The website is being updated with new pictures, and I’ll post the best here on the blog in the near future. For the time being I’m back in Missoula after a great 10 days on the Umpqua NF in Oregon as a helicopter manager. Fire season is over here in western Montana, and it would appear that the DNRC’s seasonal workforce will be laid off at the end of the month. So, until next time… Keep one foot in the black, if you have any.

Quick update… Was sent to a fire in SW Oregon as a helicopter manager since fire season has been cancelled in Missoula… 2+ inches of rain since I left has led the DNRC to decide that August 28th will be the last day of work for the seasonal workforce, pending some huge and unexpected fire event in MT.
So, I made it 10 or so days on the Williams Creek fire on the Umpqua NF, and will be getting released in the next day or so. Hopefully I’ll be getting one more assignment before the season is over.
